Understanding often arrives long before change does. The distance between the two is where this work happens.
I’m a Somatic therapist based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland who offers a body-based, experiential approach to therapy. Rather than working through analysis alone, somatic therapy works with your nervous system directly, through attention, sensation, and direct experience. Sessions are collaborative and paced to what your nervous system can actually integrate, without urgency toward insight.
Over time, this tends to look like: more capacity to remain present with difficult feelings, less reactivity, and a growing sense of connection with yourself, your instincts, your creativity, and your sense of agency in your life.
