Welcome,

I’m Elyse, a somatic therapist based in Titirangi, Auckland/ Tāmaki Makaurau.

My work is grounded in Embodied Processing and the principles of Somatic Movement Education in the tradition of Thomas Hanna. It is informed by trauma-aware practice and nervous system regulation. I continue to deepen this work through ongoing study and supervision.

In our work together, we slow down.

We listen not only to your words, but to the subtle language of your body — the shifts in breathe, posture, gesture and tone.

Often, what keeps us feeling stuck is not a lack of insight, but a nervous system that has learned to stay on guard.

With steady attention and curiosity, we can begin to notice these patterns —not to fix them, but to understand them from within.

When the body feels heard, it begins to remember it’s balance.

If this feels like the right next step, you’re welcome to reach out.

How somatic therapy helps

We work with the nervous system—not just the mind—to support lasting change. through somatic therapy you can:

  • Regulate your nervous system and release long-held tension

  • Reconnect with your body and it’s intelligence

  • Restore creativity and vitality that trauma and stress may have suppressed

  • Experience relief and presence in everyday life

Exploring somatic therapy

It’s natural to feel curious or uncertain about trying somatic therapy. A brief 15-minute consultation gives you the chance to connect, notice how the work feels in your body, and explore whether it supports your nervous system, presence and capacity. elysesomatic@gmail.com
